Joanna studied Sociology at Nicholas Copernicus University in Toruń, where she specialised in Cultural Anthropology. For her project entitled "Shakespeare Steps Out of the City Centre" she received a European Diploma in Culture Projects Management issued by the Marcel Hicter Foundation in Brussels. Joanna is one of the founders of the "Blue Blanket" university cinema in Toruń.
